Recently, Fox News reported that there’s an increase of Scammers that are threatening to write bad Online Reviews about businesses and demanding payment and other incentives for not posting those harmful reviews.
In the video that Fox News Mobile posted on their website (http://video.foxnews.com/v/1718711741001), the restaurant owner that was a victim of this type of scam decided not to comply with the scammer’s request to give him a gift card to a local restaurant.
Some experts say that the best way to combat bad Online Reviews that have been posted by your previous customers, clients, patients is to use Social Media to respond by explaining your side of the story and to add more Positive Reviews.
The experts also stated that it may be a bad idea to file a lawsuit against those that post negative reviews as that can cause more harm than good.
I personally believe that filing a lawsuit will make your potential patients afraid to get their work done at your dental practice for fear that they may get sued or be bullied.
Unfortunately, that’s just the way we humans think.
The Fox News Reporter also mentioned the damaging effects of having just one bad review posted about you Online.
This news is troubling for dentists, because for the past couple of months I’ve been seeing a dramatic increase in patients leaving extremely negative reviews about dentists all over the Internet.
I truly can’t believe how bad some of these reviews are…
Some of the reviews are extremely long and detailed with dollar amounts, dates, and the names of the dentists and of the staff members.
I’ve never seen anything like this Online, now all of your patients have a voice and if they feel mistreated, they are going out of their way to let the world know it by leaving reviews on sites such as Yelp, Google+, and the list goes on.
This Online Review Trend is so big that I’ve written several articles trying to inform dentists about this big Tidal Wave that’s destroying their reputations.
I normally wouldn’t write this many articles on one topic if it wasn’t important.
The good news is that you can be proactive in preventing and/or minimizing the chances of your patients leaving Negative Reviews.
Here’s how in two simple words…
This is the topic that I’ve been writing about for the last couple of months because it is that important.
In a nutshell, Reputation Marketing is nothing more than developing a 5-Star Online Reputation for your dental practice and then marketing it all over the Internet.
Your Positive Reviews will appear on your Google+ Page, Facebook Pages, Websites, Blogs, Flickr, Photobucket, Pinterest, and so on.
It’s pretty obvious why you must have a stellar Online Reputation, because bad reviews can cause you to lose thousands of dollars due to potential patients choosing your competitors that do have that 5-Star Reputation.
I had to provide you with more proof that this Online Review issue is so bad and becoming more out of control that it’s making Headline news.
I highly advise you to be proactive in protecting the reputation of your dental practice even if you currently have a 5-Star Reputation, because all it takes is one bad review to damage it.
